This word being shared is one I have been listening to for the last three weeks. As always, please consider praying and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you through this word. God gives words of knowledge and understanding in part, meaning this download is only a part of which I have been perceiving in prayer.
Now Jacob sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to get directions to Goshen. When they arrived in the region of Goshen, Joseph had his chariot made ready and went to Goshen to meet his father Israel. As soon as Joseph appeared before him, he threw his arms around his father and wept for a long time.
Genesis 46:28-29, New International Version
The Joseph generation is rising. A group of pioneers, inventors, entrepreneurs and the like are rising to their place in the Kingdom of God. No person will establish these individuals and groups, but God is orchestrating those He has called and those who are saying, “Here I am, send me.” They are shifting into the land of promise; the land of plenty and readying themselves for what is coming.
This word about God moving His people into the land of Goshen to prepare for the coming years is nothing new and has been declared many times in the last several weeks. I highly encourage you to take the time to pray, seek and understand if this word and the aligning of the others resonates with your spirit.
As I have been praying and listening over the last three weeks, I have felt a strong stir in understanding what happens between here and Goshen. What does preparation look like? How can we see God’s hand moving even though there is (what feels like) a mass amount of rising spiritual warfare. Warfare tactics such as fear, religious impositions, mental fog, nighttime terrors, health issues and so on have been on the move. Each attack from the enemy has been to impede God’s people from their land of Goshen. Why? Because arriving in Goshen means victory. However, in between now and Goshen, it is critical to understand the tactics, warfare and the driving force to stay steadfast and secure in the arms of God.
THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE
Genesis 46:28-29 is a key to unlock this, but first we need to understand Genesis 44:18-34.
The Holy Spirit often uses different things to unlock further understanding of the Scripture to help us apply the meaning. For example, name meanings.
- Judah’s name means praise and is the tribe Jesus came through.
- Benjamin’s name means the son of my right hand. The right hand is typically associated with favor, authority and honor. Case in point, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God. All power and authority are seated there in Jesus Christ.
In Genesis 44:18-34, Judah is doing his best to spare not only Benjamin’s life as a slave to Joseph, but is also trying to spare the sure death that will come to their father, Jacob. It matters because tied to Jacob is Benjamin – if he loses Benjamin, it is the understanding that he dies because of his love for his son. The parallel can be made of Christ dying for the church, but we know His death brings us victory through His shed blood.
In this passage, the Holy Spirit showed me – Judah pleads on behalf of Benjamin. Your praise (Judah) is the sacrifice which moves the hand of God (Benjamin).
In the coming weeks and months, the enemy will be continuing to throw warfare. However, the battle is won through the sacrifice of praise and worship. Friend, the best encouragement to offer up is to keep praising. Your praise will win this battle. Your praise will move the hand of God. Your praise is the key to unlocking favor on the way to Goshen.
THE REMNANT’S DELIVERANCE
And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Genesis 45:5-7, New International Version, emphasis mine
The remnant isn’t a cool club or group of people who are more special. The remnant is the children of God – those expectant for His glory. As part of God raising those with a spirit similar to Joseph, He is allowing for forerunners to move ahead and to pave the way for those also moving forward. What does this look like? Generational inheritance and legacy. God is a generational God. We see this through His promise to Abraham being brought forth through Jacob. God is raising the forerunners for the remnant’s deliverance.
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
Isaiah 60:1-2, New International Version
Deliverance for the remnant looks like glory. Just like thick darkness covering the earth, shekinah glory will cover the people of God. Isaiah 60:1-2 bubbles to the surface as we prepare for what God has moving into Goshen. The enemy would love for the children of God to think the thick darkness is encapsulating us. But, arise and shine – the glory of the Lord is resting upon us.
SUDDEN MOVEMENTS
“So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt. Now hurry back to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me; don’t delay. You shall live in the region of Goshen and be near me—you, your children and grandchildren, your flocks and herds, and all you have. I will provide for you there, because five years of famine are still to come. Otherwise you and your household and all who belong to you will become destitute.’
Genesis 45:8-11, New International Version, emphasis mine
Over and over I hear – delay is not denial. Your promise might be delayed. Your breakthrough might be delayed. Your deliverance might be delayed. But you are not denied.
In this next season, God is going to be moving His people in sudden ways. God works in sudden moments and it is even more crucial than ever to be prepared. Like an army moving towards battle, God is saying to His children – be ready, be alert, be steadfast and be on the lookout. The battle is won, but on the way to Goshen, there will be sudden responses required.
Some of the responses might not make sense at the moment, but fear not. Trust His timing, trust His word and remember – every step is moving closer to the victory. Even though the enemy might seem hot on your heels, don’t look back. The chariots cannot catch up to you and overtake you.
THE WAITING CHARIOT
There is a greater chariot waiting!
When you see this, your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass; the hand of the Lord will be made known to his servants, but his fury will be shown to his foes. See, the Lord is coming with fire, and his chariots are like a whirlwind; he will bring down his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For with fire and with his sword the Lord will execute judgment on all people, and many will be those slain by the Lord.
Isaiah 66:14-16, New International Version
I was brought to Isaiah 66 while understanding the waiting chariot of the Lord. Chariots were symbols of power and glory. As you move with the Spirit in sudden moments, the chariot is waiting to carry you the rest of the way. The rest. Rest in the promises. Rest in His love. Rest in the season despite the war.
While you rest, He is winning the battle of the enemy. The enemies won’t be able to survive the coming chariot of the Lord. It might look like they have their own chariots, but fear not! The waiting chariot is carrying you to Goshen. Just like Joseph had the chariot waiting for his father Jacob (Genesis 46:29a), the Lord is preparing a chariot for you.
BREAKTHROUGH HAS A NAME
The name Goshen means – a land of plenty and of comfort. The place you are being moved into is one of plenty and comfort. The scarcity mindset is being broken off the children of God on their way to Goshen in order for them to steward their storehouses of plenty. Not only that, but comfort is being unleashed while you move into plenty. Do not fear the fiery darts or the threatening voice of the enemy. His voice doesn’t bring comfort, but the voice of the Lord is strong, mighty and comforting. Lean into His voice – the voice of your Shepherd!
We see in Genesis 46:28-29 that Jacob sent Judah to Joseph, but it was Israel who was welcomed into Goshen by Joseph. Why does this detail matter? Jacob was the former identity transformed into the latter name Israel. We move from one identity to the other by going from glory to glory. Your current level of glory gives way because of the praise you are sending forth. Send forth praise first.
Praise gives you direction when you can’t seem to find your way. And your praise is breaking you through to the next level of glory.
